November Already?
It's been a while since I've posted. The last couple of weeks have been mentally stressful, but I'm doing better this week. I even cleaned my floors this week. Not a fun task since I didn't get to them last week. I think I could have made another cat out of the hair I vacuumed up. Blah
I am amazed that it's November already. Where did the year go? In a few short weeks we'll be hearing Christmas music on the radio and decorations will start showing up in windows and yards.
I love Christmas. I know I've said that before. I'm looking forward to eggnog and ice cream. I hope it cools down. I don't like when it's 80 degrees in December.
I have a little of my shopping done. I'm not sure what all I should spend with the economy the way it is. It's hard to buy for my kids at their age. Everything they want is expensive. Justin and Taylor each want a laptop. Yeah...that's not gonna happen. I'd be happy with children that help around the house as my gift. That's not gonna happen either. So we're even.
I've been trying to eat healthy. I gain weight every year around Christmas and I thought it might be smart for a change to watch what I eat before Christmas instead of waiting until after. This way I can eat things I crave without feeling totally horrible, because I ate well for the other two meals during the day. I still don't want to diet, I want to learn good eating habits. Since I've been eating better I feel really good. I don't eat a lot of meat and I love soup and salads. I'd like to get my kids to eat better but they aren't much into veggies. I have to sneak them in when I can. I'm less moody when I eat healthy. I make salads that are absolutely HUGE. I found some wonderful ice cream at HEB that has no added sugar and 1/2 the fat. Mint chocolate chip and another one with chocolate. So good and I don't feel bad about eating it. I really like feeling good.
Maggie is wailing through the house with her squirrel toy in her mouth. With all the cat's I've had, and I've had quite a few, I've never known one to do that. She plays with that toy like it's a bird or some prize catch.
I hear thunder. I hope it rains. I love the rain. It's been a while since we've had any. I look forward to the cool front that's supposed to come in this week. I'd love to crank up the wood stove, but it would have to get pretty cool for that.
Bruce and I are taking off this Sunday. We have the airshow on Saturday and Sunday will be a day to chill out and do nothing. To sleep in on a Sunday will be nice.
I guess it's time for bed.
Sweet Dreams everyone.
