Have you ever wondered what you were created for?
Times get crazy hard and your a Christian person who believes that God will help but you can't see prayers answered. You think, I'm not praying hard enough, or God is mad at me.
There are many answers that a good Pastor will give you for the trials of life. All are true and from the Word of God. It seems like it should be comforting to know that we are learning and there is a purpose to every trial. But it's so hard these days with times being so difficult financially and health being a major factor in most homes.
Each morning Bruce and I have been reading a chapter in the book "Purpose Driven Life."
The time together is so nice and we can take as long as we want to talk, without limitations
that we would find in a traditional bible study. As partners in life, it has been helpful to talk about all the frustrations and then the hope we find in God's Word.
I'm sitting here on the back porch, looking at all my mess. I can't even count the number of chickens I have and I can't honestly say I would be able to tell you everything that is out here without walking around and looking at each bird. I can tell you how much I enjoy them and how they make me laugh.
I can tell you how each one has a different personality and how the ones that makes the biggest impact are given a name.
Right now, I'm watching Goose, Mavericks son, bathe in the flowerbed and then just lay there like a blob of black and white ruffled fluff. He walks up to us to say hello many times a day.
He was a hard bird to grow out. The hen who hatched him let him, and the two other chicks she hatched, drink bad water. It caused them to get sick and I had to take them away and raise them. They were the most awful looking little bunch. Now all three are beautiful.
Isn't it amazing how you can come from something that is a mess and turn into this beautiful creature?
I think that's why he's so sweet. He was hand raised and had a hard time. He loves us because we took care of him and made him better and stronger. I guess that's a lesson I should pay attention to.
I find such peace in nature. There is nothing like sitting outside on a beautiful day listening to birds, feeling the breeze and smelling the fresh air. I could never paint or create anything so beautiful.
A lot of people say you choose to be happy or to be unhappy.
That's not true.
When you feel bad or your heart is hurting, there is no happy dance that can get you out of it. Life happens. But...I find...that you can find moments where you can quiet the bad stuff just for a time and breathe in the fresh air and be thankful for something.
I pray God blesses you today.
I pray He gives you many precious moments of gratitude.
Hugs
Shannon
