Julie & Julia

I'm watching "Julie & Julia" while working in the kitchen. I get such a kick out of that movie. When Meryl Streep is in her kitchen cutting a pile of onions the size of a watermelon and her husband walks in only to have the smell of the onions his him in the face. The look on his face...... LOL!! I love it. Just thinking about it makes me laugh.
I wish I were better at blogging each day like in the movie. I don't know how many people read my blog, I just enjoy writing. I feel like I'm on a journey in the last several years. I guess we're all on a journey, but how many of us see it? I can see the changes in me. Not sure they're all good. :)

I'm doing laundry and cleaning up the house today. It's just too hot to be outside. I worked outside for several days last week to the point that I'm swollen from drinking so much. It's hot out there, and yet not even close to how hot it was last year. I don't think I can put any of my rings on, my hands are so swollen. I'm proud of my husband and son Taylor for working out in this heat every day. I picked up one of his trimmers the other day to trim an area that was only ten foot by about 12 foot. I felt like my arm was going to fall off when I was done. I don't know how he does it. He's not sure how I can handle hanging out in the house all day cleaning. But I love my home. I'm sure other's would find it interesting. I think it's wonderful. I think a home should reflect the family. If that's true, my family is cluttered and disorganized. :))

Several years ago I read something that really made sense to me. I can't remember where I read it or what exactly it said but it talked about how saying the words "I am ......." before some value that you wish you had.  It was explained that, in doing so, it could change your subconscious thinking.   We all have so many thoughts running through our heads at any given moment and I would guess that not all those thoughts are positive.  If you are a woman, then you probably have many more thoughts running at one time than any man would.  Most of us have high expectations for ourselves, so every imaginable self criticism comes to mind and runs on a continuous loop in our heads. When we read the bible it has so many areas that talk about taking captive your thoughts, thinking of only good things, speaking words that only lift us up, and BELIEVING what you pray for, so it will be done.  So the trick for most of us is to shut down those negative subconscious thoughts t...

Todays thoughts

I've been listening and reading about a new fad in Christianity that has become very heart breaking for me personally . It seems there is a growing number of people who don't like what they call the "institution" of the church. You know what? Church is not perfect and never was. That's why there are so many letters in the bible to churches telling them what they need to change. It's not going to be perfect but that doesn't mean we walk away. What concerns me about great Christian people who give up on the church experience, is that, in giving up and only gathering with a small group of Christians, they are losing the experience of fellowship with people that have no other place to go. Christians who need loving people around them on that Sunday morning, to help get them through the week.
