I love pajama pants

I was out watering some trees on the property and the neighbor, behind us, came over to say hello. I was in my navy plaid pj pants with a long sleeve red and tan striped shirt, black snowboots, no makeup and my hair in a clip. Lovely. But I didn't care too much. I can't count how many dead trees are on the property. Survival of the fittest I guess. The deer are desperate for food due to the lack or rain so we feed them cracked corn, deer pellets and water. Somehow one got into the garden and topped my greenbean plants. Two of the deer are so pregnant, I'm not sure how they can walk. The pond has a fresh batch of tadpoles and I'm sure the swallow eggs, on the porch, have hatched or are about to. I told my husband I wish the house was perfect at all times so I could have friends over whenever. (Not sure why I can't throw away the mentality that the house must be perfect for company. Guess it's the one little voice in my head that I can't shut up.) B...

Walkin the garden again

I went out again this morning to look at the flowers. The rose bushes aren't doing great, but the larkspur are starting to bloom. They didn't get as talk this year due to lack of rain, but are still very pretty. I walked the property and found some cactus with blooms. They haven't opened yet. I know they will open some time after lunch. I'll take a picture then. I don't like the cactus, but the flowers are really beautiful. Lilly kept me company while I took pictures and even posed for a few. We call Lilly whiney butt cause she talks non-stop...just like her mama. :) The deer wanted to be fed so I did that and took a few pictures. We have two mamas who are very pregnant. It's always so much fun when the babies are born. They have them in the brush but don't bring them out to see us until they are a week or so old. At that point we have to be careful feeding them because they're very protective and will stomp and huff at us to go away so they can eat. The...

Garden progress and photos

I still haven't cleaned up the garden, but the plants don't seem to mind. I went out this morning and took some pictures because I have roses. :) I'm not sure how many I will get this year. Last year I only got a few and something took care of the rest. They eat the bud before it even has a chance to bloom. I have a small batch of larkspur that have bloomed. I can only imagine what it will look like when the rest bloom, especially if I don't pull some out. You won't be able to walk into the garden. I have some tomatoes growing and even some of those grape tomatoes. Alex and I will eat those right off the plant. The squash look amazing. The rest of the plants look kinda pathetic. The pond is still pea soup although I have the stuff to put in it. I hope I get some lillies this year. I think they only bloom in the morning, so I'll have to get my rear in gear to get out and see them. I'm tempted to go out and cut some flowers for the inside of the ho...

I don't want to exercise!!!

I went online and looked up symptoms of perimenopause. I think I'm the poster child. I'm still working on trying to figure out what works for me and how to do better. I think it's time to look at vitamins. I take a multivitamin along with my antidepressant, but I think I might need to get a little more creative than that. It's funny how much time we spend, when we're young, on educating ourselves for work, family, etc, and very little time on how our body works and what it needs. Then we hit our 30's and 40's and we start looking for that miracle pill to fix all our health issues. We try all kinds of things to feel better and have less stress, once our body starts to show signs of wear and tear. You go to the doctor and he says, "exercise". :( I know that's a great idea...but I don't like to exercise. I am on my feet all day working on the house and whatever. The last thing I want to do is go run the neighborhood. Yes...I know it will make ...
