Garden progress and photos






I still haven't cleaned up the garden, but the plants don't seem to mind.
I went out this morning and took some pictures because I have roses. :)
I'm not sure how many I will get this year. Last year I only got a few and something took care of the rest. They eat the bud before it even has a chance to bloom.
I have a small batch of larkspur that have bloomed. I can only imagine what it will look like when the rest bloom, especially if I don't pull some out. You won't be able to walk into the garden.
I have some tomatoes growing and even some of those grape tomatoes. Alex and I will eat those right off the plant. The squash look amazing. The rest of the plants look kinda pathetic. The pond is still pea soup although I have the stuff to put in it. I hope I get some lillies this year. I think they only bloom in the morning, so I'll have to get my rear in gear to get out and see them.
I'm tempted to go out and cut some flowers for the inside of the house. Not sure I have the heart to do it just yet. It would be nice to enjoy the roses while they last.
I posted some photos so you can see the progress. I hope to get out there and clean up the garden soon. I hate walking on larkspur plants. I'm sure I will hate pulling them up also. I could just let them grow and walk in with a masheti to clear my path.
The peach trees are very new but I actually have a few little peaches on them. They might fall off before they grow, all 3 of them. :)
The swallows have just about finished their nest even though we tried to keep them from building it. We had a couple of nests a year or so ago. One did great and the second one was a disaster. I'll spare you the gory details.
Every morning I open the one window with a screan and Maggie and Gretta sit in the window, smell the air and watch the birds. This morning they looked picture perfect.

I AM

Several years ago I read something that really made sense to me. I can't remember where I read it or what exactly it said but it talked about how saying the words "I am ......." before some value that you wish you had.  It was explained that, in doing so, it could change your subconscious thinking.   We all have so many thoughts running through our heads at any given moment and I would guess that not all those thoughts are positive.  If you are a woman, then you probably have many more thoughts running at one time than any man would.  Most of us have high expectations for ourselves, so every imaginable self criticism comes to mind and runs on a continuous loop in our heads. When we read the bible it has so many areas that talk about taking captive your thoughts, thinking of only good things, speaking words that only lift us up, and BELIEVING what you pray for, so it will be done.  So the trick for most of us is to shut down those negative subconscious thoughts t...

Todays thoughts

I've been listening and reading about a new fad in Christianity that has become very heart breaking for me personally . It seems there is a growing number of people who don't like what they call the "institution" of the church. You know what? Church is not perfect and never was. That's why there are so many letters in the bible to churches telling them what they need to change. It's not going to be perfect but that doesn't mean we walk away. What concerns me about great Christian people who give up on the church experience, is that, in giving up and only gathering with a small group of Christians, they are losing the experience of fellowship with people that have no other place to go. Christians who need loving people around them on that Sunday morning, to help get them through the week.
