Walkin the garden again





I went out again this morning to look at the flowers. The rose bushes aren't doing great, but the larkspur are starting to bloom. They didn't get as talk this year due to lack of rain, but are still very pretty.
I walked the property and found some cactus with blooms. They haven't opened yet. I know they will open some time after lunch. I'll take a picture then. I don't like the cactus, but the flowers are really beautiful.
Lilly kept me company while I took pictures and even posed for a few. We call Lilly whiney butt cause she talks non-stop...just like her mama. :)
The deer wanted to be fed so I did that and took a few pictures. We have two mamas who are very pregnant. It's always so much fun when the babies are born. They have them in the brush but don't bring them out to see us until they are a week or so old. At that point we have to be careful feeding them because they're very protective and will stomp and huff at us to go away so they can eat.
The same two mother deer gave birth last year and the little ones play together.
The squash are doing great. I took pictures of them and the first set of grape tomatoes that I'll be picking today to share with Alex.
Bruce is off with his band playing a benefit, but once he gets back I'm going to see if he will move the birdbath and firebox into the garden with me. We used to have a sitting area in the garden but moved it to the back porch when we put the deck on. I'm sure I can find something to put in the garden to sit on so I can have breakfast out there. I'll post pictures once I get it set up.

It's a good day

Welcome to a glorious fall day!!!!! I got to sit on my front porch swing with my husband and my coffee and listen to the birds, on a beautiful and much cooler fall morning!!!!  YAY!!! We are not our body

It is a beautiful spring morning with perfect temperatures and a nice breeze.  I've already had to go outside and save a chicken who snuck into a netted garden bed trying to steal my sprouting veggies.  I gave her sisters some oatmeal and she was losing her little chicken mind trying to get out so she could have some oatmeal also.   I was sitting here journaling about a book I was listening to while I was cleaning yesterday.  It's a Wayne Dyer book called, "There's a spiritual solution to every problem", where he talks about vibration, energy, and frequency.  He says you have to raise your vibration to truly connect with God and hear the guidance you need for a beautiful life.  It got me thinking about the body and what the body's purpose is in this life we've chosen to live on earth.  I believe that we are souls living in a body that was created by our parents.  When we are done with this life, we leave this precious body that has helped us ...

Where the heck is fall?

Good Morning! It's cloudy outside.  As I was making my coffee in the kitchen, I looked out the window, and the neighbors chickens were trying to get my attention.  They are so funny.   Finally one of them flew up onto the garden gate and looked at me through the window as if to say, "get your rear out here and feed us". As I walked out the front door to the porch and towards the gate to the gravel driveway, they started running towards me.  I sat on the ground and set their food down only to find that Kiki decided to come and visit me also.  The chickens weren't too sure about her.  They waited a while, at a distance, until they realized she wasn't a threat.  It's fun to listen to them talk while they eat.  If they see anything that might be a threat, they make little noises to each other and you can hear them discuss it with little chirps.  I have listened to roosters for years in the neighborhood and told my husband that I would...
