Designs by ME

I went online last night and looked at a couple of blogs that have the shabby chic look I like. I was impressed with some of the designs. I'm going to try to post pictures, of the things I make, a bit more often.
It might encourage me to work harder

I started making angels quite a few years ago. Each year I would think up another design and make them as gifts, always keeping one for myself. This is a shelf sitter angel. I bet I made her 16 years ago.

This angel design is one of the first ones I came up with. It was made from a handkerchief, scrap fabric and grapevine wings. Simple and cute at the time.

This bunny angel was created many Christmas ago. I sat her in my tree each year. Now she sits in my bathroom.

About a year ago I ran across a wreath someone made from heart pillows made from an old quilt. I bought it, took the stuffing out of the hearts and I'm making these gift tag/ornaments. You can write on the backside.

I made these a couple of days ago. I have this bracelet that I love and wear every day. I wanted to see if I can make some like it. It took me all day but I ended up with 9 bracelets and 5 pair of earrings, all the same colors but no two are exactly alike. They are all shades of pink...go figure. :)

Last but not least, I have my ultimate favorite design of all time. I've had her for about 14 years. Her dress is made from a quilt that's tea stained. I hang some of my vintage jewelry on the dress. Who says your too old for dolls. I've made only a few like her. In fact...I looked through my pictures and I've only made 7 that size (not counting my santas)

I think creating things is my passion more than anything else. I love when someone enjoys something I've made. It is the best feeling in the world to see someone love something you've created. I will sit in my little craft room and work on something for hours. Sometimes it flops and other times it rocks. When it rocks, it's a great feeling.
I hope you enjoyed the photos. I hope they inspire you to do something creative.
Hugs
Shannon
