I love thrift store shopping

Today was a fun day for me. I get to lose myself for hours and spend very little. I think it's much cheaper than therapy. :) I like to go by myself and I always get to meet new people. Today I got to talk and laugh with several really sweet ladies and one really funny older man who runs the Sr Citizens thrift store.

This chandelier hangs in my bathroom and only cost me $50.00

















This hangs on my bathroom door. The door itself is recycled.













This is one of my favorite finds. It was a whopping $150.00.




I love to shop thrift stores. It's kinda like looking for treasure. I might find something new or maybe something very old. I really love when it tells a story. I love things that are handmade.






I took a picture of a few of the things I found this morning. I like to find things that look good together, almost as if I'm shopping with a theme. You might be asking yourself, "but what does she need with all that junk"? And my answer would be....I don't need any of it...but isn't it pretty? :)
The things you don't see in this photo are bits of lace, fabric, misc clothing, and a very cool, brand new in the box, shiatsu massage seat topper.



















This picture is from a year ago. Again, I guess I was shopping with a theme. I don't keep everything. I alter some of it, give some as gifts, sell some, and keep some. My entire home is filled with thrift store finds. I love it.

I AM

Several years ago I read something that really made sense to me. I can't remember where I read it or what exactly it said but it talked about how saying the words "I am ......." before some value that you wish you had.  It was explained that, in doing so, it could change your subconscious thinking.   We all have so many thoughts running through our heads at any given moment and I would guess that not all those thoughts are positive.  If you are a woman, then you probably have many more thoughts running at one time than any man would.  Most of us have high expectations for ourselves, so every imaginable self criticism comes to mind and runs on a continuous loop in our heads. Todays thoughts

I've been listening and reading about a new fad in Christianity that has become very heart breaking for me personally . It seems there is a growing number of people who don't like what they call the "institution" of the church. You know what? Church is not perfect and never was. That's why there are so many letters in the bible to churches telling them what they need to change. It's not going to be perfect but that doesn't mean we walk away. What concerns me about great Christian people who give up on the church experience, is that, in giving up and only gathering with a small group of Christians, they are losing the experience of fellowship with people that have no other place to go. Christians who need loving people around them on that Sunday morning, to help get them through the week.
