Blah blah blah......about nothing much


I just got back from lunch with my cousin Candy. We always have fun hanging out. Lots of laughs and stories about our lives. I feel pretty fortunate to have a close friendship with at least three of my cousins. We all understand the genetic pool of stuff each other has to deal with. Good and Bad. Always makes for a laugh.

I have a headache today. Seems to be getting worse as the day goes on. I'm suposed to go to our church this evening for something called trunk or treat. I'm thinking a cup of tension tamer tea, lots more tylenol, a good movie, and a soft bed sounds wonderful.

Yesterday I started on one of my large rag dolls. I think I've made a total of 6 of them in all my years of crafting. This is a photo of the one I made for myself.
The one I'm making now has more blue in the quilt, is tea stained, and has a lot more lace. I never know how they'll turn out. I guess that's what makes it fun and why I don't like making any two alike.

I tell ya, I'm getting the itch for Christmas. Must be this cool weather. Tomorrow, I should put on some Christmas music while I work.

We have another front blowing in in the next couple of days. I'm gonna pulling out the crockpot for some cider. If you want to make a really easy hot cider, all you need is some apple juice, red hots and maybe a sliced up orange, (if you have one) throw it all into a crockpot until it's heated, and Tah Dah! It's a great Halloween or Christmas tradition for kids, and easy enough for THEM to make.

Well, that's all for now. I need to go see how the kids are doing with their costumes. Should be interesting.

I AM

Several years ago I read something that really made sense to me. I can't remember where I read it or what exactly it said but it talked about how saying the words "I am ......." before some value that you wish you had.  It was explained that, in doing so, it could change your subconscious thinking.   We all have so many thoughts running through our heads at any given moment and I would guess that not all those thoughts are positive.  If you are a woman, then you probably have many more thoughts running at one time than any man would.  Most of us have high expectations for ourselves, so every imaginable self criticism comes to mind and runs on a continuous loop in our heads. When we read the bible it has so many areas that talk about taking captive your thoughts, thinking of only good things, speaking words that only lift us up, and BELIEVING what you pray for, so it will be done.  So the trick for most of us is to shut down those negative subconscious thoughts t...

Todays thoughts

I've been listening and reading about a new fad in Christianity that has become very heart breaking for me personally . It seems there is a growing number of people who don't like what they call the "institution" of the church. You know what? Church is not perfect and never was. That's why there are so many letters in the bible to churches telling them what they need to change. It's not going to be perfect but that doesn't mean we walk away. What concerns me about great Christian people who give up on the church experience, is that, in giving up and only gathering with a small group of Christians, they are losing the experience of fellowship with people that have no other place to go. Christians who need loving people around them on that Sunday morning, to help get them through the week.
