Pictures of crafty stuff.

I've been working on some shaby chic designs here and there. It's cheap therapy for me. I thought I would post some pictures of the purses I finished yesterday and the sunglass bags I have ready to go. I make them up and put them away in a tote until I'm ready to take them somewhere to be sold. It's kinda fun, every once in a while, to have a look and see what all I've made.

This is a cross over bag that is about 8 1/2 X 12 inches. Cross over, meaning the strap is sized to go across your body. I'm curious if it will fit an ipad. I don't have an ipad so I'm not sure. It has a velcro close, one interior pocket and one exterior pocket.

I bought this purse with all the basic body of it finished. It has a really pretty purple interior fabric, no interior pocket, but two exterior pockets.
It was a lot of fun working on this one and getting to do all the embelishments. It's a solid bag that stands very well on it's own.

This bag is very soft and light weight. It's about a 10 X 12 bag with black interior, three interior pockets and closes with velcro. I love the fabric on this one. I usually over embelish my bags, but I like this one simple.

I've been working on this bag for quite a while. I wanted to make something that told a story....so I thought of all the things a woman needs to hear and actually wrote some of my favorite phrases on the quilt square on one side of the bag. I found the quilt square in a giant bag of fabric that I purchased a couple of months ago. There are several vintage laces and embelishments on this one, as if your telling a story about the person who owns it. I have three different purses that I made myself with parts of dresses or lace from my grandmother. With my purses you can add vintage pins, lace or embellishments of your own, and they are all very washable.

I have quite a few sunglass bags. I keep one thin one for my reading glasses, one for my sunglasses and one extra for my phone, GPS or whatever I need a small sleeve like bag for. I finally had to retire the sunglasses I had for over two years because I wore out the plastic, and yet they still don't have a single scratch on the lenses. I was so tired of puting my sunglasses in my purse and then throwing my keys in, only to find the keys had keyed my lenses. I think I went through 5 pair in a month before I finally gave in and grabbed a case my sister in law made me several years ago, from a soft vintage quilt. After using that case for about a year, it started to fall apart. I was so bummed and decided to make myself another one. Then, I just kept making them and giving them away.

These are all the different ones I have here at the house. I have several at Maldonado's nursery with my bags, jewelry and other cute stuff. :)

So that's all the stuff I've been working on. I've got a few Christmas ornaments started but don't have them finished enough to take pictures yet. Everything has that shabby chic look to it. It's just how I roll I guess. ;)

I'm not sure what I would do if I couldn't create stuff. I started Crochet when I was 7, so I'm not sure I ever had a time in my life when I wasn't making something.
I hope you enjoy the pictures. Maybe they will inspire you to do something that makes you smile.
Hugs
