Rest
Good Afternoon!
Today is the day of rest. My body is telling me it doesn't like me, after helping my husband mow the property yesterday. My sinuses have gone on strike from all the grass dust. And....my husband was the grumpiest man on the face of the earth yesterday. I finally had to stop and say, "all right MR...you being rude!"
Ok...he just walked in and saw me type that. Darn, now he's going to read my blog.
Ha...........He's in the background telling me what I should type. Silly man.
The property looks so nice. And yet, it's not all done. We leave a lot natural for the animals that live here. Yesterday, when Bruce was leaving to pick up food, he noticed a baby bunny by his shop. And while I was mowing, next to the burn pile, a mouse hopped out and went under the house. It was probably the same mouse that kiki caught but lost because she has no claws up front, not teeth up front, and she's 15 years old. She wined at me until I lifted her over the fence, where the mouse escaped, so she could look for it again. I really need to put Ash and Remy outside for mousing, but they are terrified of "outside". And...I don't want them starting fights with miss Kiki.
Talking about a mouse and other creatures that live here is always amusing to me. I have friends who freak out with stuff like that. I think I was born to be a country girl, except for killing animals. I don't kill animals. I will rescue things other people would squash under a boot.
One day I disturbed a brush pile and saw a mother mouse with two babies attached, nursing. She was running from me and they were latched on for dear life. It was so cute!!! My dad would have stomped that right then and there. I called the kids over so they could see and we made sure she got away safe. Lol.
We have church this evening. I'm very happy to be allowed to serve by singing in this church.
I love the people and the message. So much good is done through the church where we serve.
I don't think I will ever get too attached to a church again. I don't think He wants that.
My closest time with God is here at this house in the quiet of nature. I watch for things that God brings to lighten my day. Some people think that's silly, but Bruce and I have seen some miraculous things since we've become close to God. Like praying for funds to buy kitchen cabinets and then having someone show us the house they bought and tell us they are removing their kitchen cabinets to install new ones.. all within a two week time frame. I bet I have hundreds of stories like that.
God is good. :)
Miss Maggie is on my lap pestering me. The tail is whipping around like she's annoyed I'm not petting her. Tuesday I get her lump checked on her right shoulder. I pray it's nothing bad.
We've almost lost her once before from probable poisoning. When the vet gave up on her, our prayer warriors did not.
My oldest son is here, so I better go.
Hugs
Shannon
