I'm so glad it's Friday.
I had absolutely no energy today.
The plan was to go to lunch with a friend and do nothing else.
I think I accomplished my goal.
When I walked into the living room this morning, there was a partially eaten shoe on the floor. I looked over at the chihuahua (peanut) and his tail was already between his legs and he was headed over to his protector, my husband. He kept looking at me, but was pawing at my husbands leg, as if to say, "oh please pick me up and save me from the crazy lady". I kept looking at him, which was making him incredibly nervous. Finally he stood behind my husbands legs to hide and only peeked around them on occasion to see if I was still there. After that didn't work, he headed off to the oldest son's room. He jumped up on the bed and looked to my son for protection. Little did he know that my oldest son was the owner of the partially eaten shoe. So, he got his little chihuahua bottom swatted, a little too lightly in my opinion. Then my husband gave him a wimpy girly pat on the bottom. I'm thinking, "DUDE" Those were expensive shoes and probably the 30th pair he's ruined, not to mention my leather bound bible that he ate a few weeks ago. His little doggie bottom would have been smarting if it was my turn to give out the punishment. Although he usually only gets a firm "BAD DOG" from me. Now, don't get me wrong, I love my pets. They are spoiled rotten. But my kids got a swat on the rear when they did something that was intentionally destructive, or dangerous and sometimes my dogs get the same thing. But I tell ya, I had a hard time holding back a laugh when that dog was pawing my husbands leg while looking at me and then hiding behind him and peeking out every so often. Made my day.
Peanut was a rescue. One Sunday morning my husband found him out in the front flower bed all curled up shivering. He brought him in to the bathroom while I was putting on my makeup and said, "look what I found". The person who dumped him wrote his name on his collar. He needed fixing, which we did pretty quickly after finding no owner, and has been a pretty good dog other than chewing through every shoe and any headphone cord or phone charger cord he can find. He has a great fear of fly swatters. I'm assuming he was beaten pretty good with one because once you have one in your hand, that boy leaves the room. Wish I could figure out how to break him from his chewing habit. But all in all, he's pretty cool, VERY spoiled and loves to be held.
Well, I'm off to catch up on my recorded tv shows from the week and eat another sugar cookie that my husband made.
Have a Great weekend!
