My messy garden
The Swallows are building another nest on the porch....

and leaving a lovely mess on the ground.

Our garden this year is full of larkspur. They are everywhere. I need to clear some paths and decide where I need to pull the larkspur up and where I want to let them grow.
So far I have tomato plants growing, squash, a few cabbage (although they are a winter plant), carrots that haven't come up well so far, watermelon, and cucumber, and green beans that Justin planted. I have more seeds but I haven't decided where to plant them. My pond is green as pea soup with one lonely fish that hides all the time. The Lily plants are growing. No Lily flowers yet.

I have 4 rose bushes that have trouble blooming due to something topping them. I have a peach tree and a citrus tree in the garden that haven't really caught on yet.
The cedar fence that goes around the garden needs finishing and I would love to find some replacement rabbits that HAVE ears instead of my pathetic ear less ones.

So...I have a lot to do. I went out to water using my snow boots instead of rubber boots, cause I don't have rubber boots. I should get me a pair of polk-a-dot ones. I have an orange hat that I wear sometimes to cover my head. I bet I look a sight when I'm out there. But ya know what? It's me. I don't do the perfect garden with every weed pulled. I kinda look around and see a blank spot where the larkspur didn't seed and throw a few plants here and there. I don't scare the birds off, I feed them. I end up with deer in the garden on occasion and have to run them out. I save lizards and collect worms. I get dirt under my nails and have to cut them all off, but that's ok, cause sometimes you gotta feel the dirt in your hands.

I think I'm going to plant some cilantro and parsley seeds in pots and see how they do.
